Value of Business.com listing?

I was unable to find any previous topics about business.com, so here is my question.

Is it worth the price to get into business.com? Does anyone get a decent amount of traffic? Does it help with PR? Do you get picked up by "other" directories when you are in it (like dmoz). Please share any experiences you've had. I am willing to spend the money if it is worth it. Thanks!

The answer really depends on your business and how much business it is doing.

It's one of the "better" directories and depending on your business, can provide traffic. I wouldn't expect a large volume of traffic, but you might get valuable targeted traffic. You might only need one lead to make it worthwhile- again it depends on your business.

It has nothing to do with getting into DMOZ.

I believe is passes PR, but I wouldn't pay for a listing if that is your only concern.

Well, I had a listing there and didn't even know it. I do not remember ever seeing it in my logs. Also, I am not paying the $200 (or whatever it is) per year. Yet, I was discussing this very thing on another forum recently, and was convinced to go get a listing. So, I was browsing the categories to see which would be best, and then saw that I already had a listing! http://www.business.com/directory/computers_and_software/software_applications/multimedia/ So, I don't know...it may be helping some, but I think probably not a lot. Also, they used the company name for my listing, certainly not the product name, much less one of the keywords. But hey, I can't complain in my situation! :)

It's a lot like Yahoo! really, where you have to pay $300 annually. That's simply not in my budget. But then again, if you can get into a popular category and you have a decent profit margin it may be worth it.

Thank you for all your input, I guess it seems to come down to what category, and what your site is about and what kind of traffic you are looking for. I think I'll seriously consider it... Wonder if it's better to spend 300 for yahoo or 200 for business.com
