Value of biz domain

Hi guys,

I'm considering buying a biz domain which is an exact match for my keywords. Subject is financial.
Question is, how good is a biz domain ? Is it a compromise in the eyes of the search engines ?

Not at all. Search engines including Google, Yahoo, MSN/Bing do never care of your domain extension in seo perspective. All domain extension have the same weight and value from the beginning. It may have some exception for country domain such as .co.uk, .co.jp which tend to rank better toward local search such as Google.co.jp for example.

biz means business.. its better to use relevant extension name for your domain.. although its not a problem..

Well, you got the point there. Related niche extension works better. But as far as I observe, site extensions got only small effect at your site. Your site content gives high value to your site.

 

If you have good concept to start to business then don't worr about .biz domain. It will totally depend upon seo & your services.

 

When you can't find the domain you are looking for with a.com ending you may be tempted to go to a.net or.org, or God forbid a.biz,.us or worse. It's not fair to say that you can't have a great website with an extension other than.com, but I recommend going with a.com as SEO best practices. Sometimes you can buy your.com version as a premium domain, and it may be worth the extra money.

 

I've been reading about seo and biz domain. It appears that all of you guys are right with your points, but you forget one thing - user do look at the domain when they search. A biz domain might keep them away.

 

Well, you are right. Users usually thinks of .com as extensions in sites.

 

It depends on your niche.. If you are selling XYZs to the business sector then XYZ.biz would be a great url , however if you market is not business orientated maybe it will not work as well.. Also the word "biz" seems young and hip to me and if this fits your demographic it could work too.

Finally , f the name is cheap enough and its keyword perfect , I would just buy it post a wordpress blog on it for now and use it as a tool to aid your business anyway

 

I think in my opinion if your site about doing business and your domain is .biz it'll rank well in search engine
