I was just wondering what people's thoughts are on the effects of the Panda update on using article marketing as a source of obtaining backlinks? How has article marketing changed as a result of the update? And how should one change their strategy when it comes to article marketing now?
There are winners and losers. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/googles-farmer-update-analysis-of-winners-vs-losers
Currently, we're not submitting to article directories for now. Try other alternative like guest posting. Hope it helps!
So... Please explain the difference between an HTTP Post that was initiated by a person vs a program. According to your statement there must be one - please share your insights.
i think its same value as before. values in terms of SEO will decreases when a particular article is submitted to different directories.
I am also interested in this answer: I am trying to promote a new site and get backlinks. Is it worth submitting to ezinearticles and other sites or is this a waste of time? What alternatives are there to article marketing - clean ones?
There is a massive decrease in the number of keywords that article directories ranked for. Plain old article marketing is pretty much finished. These sites will still rank for some more obscure or niche search terms, but if you’re creating content for that niche, own the content. You can publish it on your blog, then promote it on Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon and other sites where people can find and share links to your site.
I still think there is some value here. Just make it part of your entire mix of strategies. I consider these types of links lower tier links.
We have 5 sites, for 1 we used on article marketing and before Panda it was #1 after Panda it was on to page 2 all genuine content on site, 70-80% spun article are ezine, article base etc. Other 4 sites still up due using other methods of link building.
if you post 400 articles in one day this is not good idea. if you do it manually it will be slower and more natural
Base on my tests it is not as effective as before but links from quality sources like EZA is important to avoid future slap.
Thats the key!!!No more xRumer and Co. Natural, organic links. And look for "do follow" dont waste your time.
Articles are still extremely effective if done properly with well researched content. If you research the keywords for your article you can get both great traffic and a strong do follow link towards your site.
exactly the article directories are still a great source of backlinks...but do it naturally....no more than 10 articles a week and much better if they are original content
Article directories have never been a good source for creating backlinks since only people who artificially build backlinks upload to these directories.
Reading the messages here makes me think nobody is actually doing article marketing. How can the value of an article link decrease? It is a page with just your link on it with relevant good content.
Well, the key is targeting low competition keywords - if you DONT do keyword research even for article marketing, it'd be totally useless! If you want gain back-links, you'd first want those article copies to get PR and some traffic, which in turn may be later passed on to your website, isn't it?
