Validation problem using Rapid Weaver for designing websites

Discussion in 'Co-op Advertising Network' started by batb0y, Jan 22, 2006.

Over the weekend I changed a couple of my websites from being designed using Drupal to RapidWeaver.

Up until now they have been validating fine - but now there seems to be a problem.

The code is the same, and Ads are working fine on the sites. But validation doesn't want to work. I've clicked Validate several times but no cigar.

    Please help.

    Sites are :

    www.michaelquinn.com.au
    www.macswitch.com.au

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is what your server is returning to the validator...

No idea... you would want to talk to your server admin on that.

With the new sites - the extensions have changed from .php to .html.

I've added the .htacess file to the site - do I need to do anything more?

Nothing has been changed on the server admin side. I've re-submitted other sites that are on the same server and they validate fine !

I've just changed another domain over to see if I could experiment with settings for it - site type, extensions etc - nothing. Its not validating now either and it was fine yesterday before I started mucking about with it.

So its not the server side.

    The new domain is www.problogger.com.au

The program I am using - RapidWeaver - creates the files and publishes them itself. What type of site would be best for this? Blogger FTP, Other ?

Does the extension type need to me anything special - although I have tried php and .html with no luck.

    argh. frustrating as heck.

It's definitely something on your server. I tested it by using curl to retrieve the page from my computer just now, and I get the same thing...

    Titan:~ shawn$ curl -A "" "http://www.michaelquinn.com.au/"

OK I will send off a report to the guys that manage things for me.

But could you please do me a favour and post the results you get for www.csurugbyoldboys.com ? It's on the same server and validates fine.

I'd like to be able to send a "positive" as well as a "negative" to my server guys so they know what to look for.

    Thanks for your help.

I just get the normal page source (same as when you look at it in a browser).

Just noticed what site you did before... haven't changed that one yet...

problogger.com.au is the one I have been trying to get to work this afternoon.

But as you can see - the csurugbyoldboys.com is on the same server as michaelquinn.com.au and yet it works fine. So how is it the server? What else could be wrong?

OK I am going to have to sound like a complete idiot here, but I really want to sort this out.

What settings / configurations should I be looking at? Is there anything in particular I need to check that might be causing this problem?

No idea... really something you are going to have to ask the server admin.
