Validation failed but ads are showing

    One of my sites - www.ezcreditoffers.com - won't validate. But the ads are showing up on the site. I get the message "Account not not yet activated. | Site failed automatic validation as of 2005-09-28" when I try to validate/calculate weight.

    I poked around in this forum, looked at a bunch of threads but none of what I found appeared to apply... Any ideas?

    You can't modify the output of the ads.

    Revert to the default ad_network PHP file, and you should be fine.

    It is the default, I even pulled the latest copy about 10 minutes ago just to be sure (ad_network_393.php).

    Oops, I was looking at the wrong thing. But it does look like your pages might be generated as static HTML files on the server. Is that the case?

    No, they're PHP but have been mod_rewrite'd to show as an HTML page. Could that be causing this?

    Well something seems to be weird with how it sees the $_SERVER variables then because for one it's showing the validator the impression tracking pixel (which it shouldn't be since it's user agent doesn't match).

    Add this to the end of your ad_network PHP File (before the closing tags):

    echo '<!-- ' . $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] . ' - ' . $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] . ' -->';
    PHP:
    Then we can see what's seeing as the user agent/IP address.

    Done. It shows this (for me, anyway):

    <!-- Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) - my.ip.address.here -->
    Code (markup):
    After adding that I'm able to validate the site. I took it out and I'm still able to validate the site.

    Did you change something?

    Validation stopped working again. This is odd.

    I don't see the code you added anywhere.

    It's back in, now. I'll leave it until we get this sorted out.

    Drupal (which that site was created with) has a caching system... I disabled the cache, tried to validate and it worked. I enabled the cache again, and it seems the site validates just fine, now.

    I'm going to check it again later on to see if it stops working (again).

    I suspect it will cause problems for you in the future with the caching system.

    I'm thinking the same thing... I'll keep an eye on it, if it seems to be causing problems I'll have to disable it.

    Thanks for the help!
