Validated but no weight

I just followed the instructions to get the links onto my forum and all went well and when I clicked validate, it said it was validated, but it had no weight. Also my ad says Pending Review. Do I have to wait until my link is accepted before I get weight?

Also how does one add these network links to html pages on a website? Thanks.

all ads are manually approved by the admins. What is your website ? Is that indexed in google ? Does it have any pagerank ? How many pages does your website have ? PM me the URL and I will be able to better answer your questions. You can add the code on html pages, and make sure you add the code to the .htaccess file as well, and you should be fine.

Well google indexed about 3/4 of my website yesterday, but not many forum pages were indexed where I have the ads placed. If I put the ads on my pages that were indexed would I then have some weight? Also the site is fairly new with a PR0 right now because I just started getting backlinks a few weeks ago. Waiting on a PR update.

    good luck

I added the ads to all my pages on my website and I still get a weight of 0. Is it because of the PR0? Should I keep the ads off my website until my PR updates?

I have a site/forum with a PR2 and it had 1300 pages according to Google.....when I joined the coop it started out with a weight of 360, after two weeks the weight increased to 590, now another two weeks on Google only show 560 or a bit less than 1/2 the pages I had but my weight went up to 2361 overnight  ...... I no understand :D

When I took over the site on 1st Feb it had no links at all. I built the links up and just before I entered the coop Yahoo was showing 500+ and MSN 1200+ Google none.
One day last week Google was showing 18, at last, I thought, finally on the way up :) .......it lasted one day then back to zero  .

Meanwhile MSN show around 3000 links and Yahoo show 870. I am getting traffic from MSN and Yahoo so I am happy.
The initial traffic was coming from some wierd keywords but the last few days I have noticed traffic coming from more relevant keywords which are related to the site as they move onto the first page of MSN and Yahoo.

As an aside I don't use Google as my search engine anymore because I find the results are not consistant with the terms I am searching for.
MSN seem to produce more focused results.

I have another site which is only a week old.
I placed it in the coop, it has no PR and no pages indexed by Google therefore no weight.
I have added relevant content rich pages and signature links and that is all I will do. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

Just as almost any question you can think of it is written in the co-op faq, http://co-op-faq.blogspot.com/2005/03/page-count-up-weight-down.html

Basically you need to view the indexed pages with use of google's API, which is very different than the one you see when entering it in your browser

Yes but the answers are not written for dummies. It takes an experienced webmaster to follow most of the instructions, and I notice that even they can have trouble following it.
It would be great if someone would write a step by step process complete with the coding so the average joe could cut and paste it straight into their site.
The only reason I managed to get it done was because Owlcroft has an excellent guide in his Freebie tool.

A lot of people try and just give up.
Just on the weight issue alone there are 3380 pages listed in Google relating to questions about it.

I have noticed a lot of questions that have been answered with the 'go to the FAQ" trouble is that still doesn't answer there question and no one else answers it because they think it has been sorted.

I think that a lot of them say go to the FAQ because the question is so commonly asked and the answer is there. If they try to read it and still dont' understand, that's one thing, but a lot of people aren't even reading it first.

Weight is going to go up and down, it doesn't mean anything is 'wrong', it just means something in the backend of google (indexed pages and/or pr) has changed.
