While I've had a semi-entertaining V-E black-hats page up for a while, I finally got around to adding a V7ndotcom Elursrebmem White Hats page. As noted there, some folks who have been helping out the charity entry and I should have had this page up much earlier in the contest.

P.S. And oh yeah, if you thought the paint webcam was over the top before, check out the latest addition of the "paint brush" cursor - heh, heh! ;-)

Now if I just just somehow magically convert each visitor (it's been pretty busy) to a backlink, I'd be rocking ...

Minor bit of trivia, but did anyone see the number of Yahoo results for V-E jump recently - looks like it went from around 1.5 millions (my last screen grab was April 15th) to 3.2 million ...

Today my webhost manually went in and disabled my domain marcuswestberg.com (all other hosted domains were left intact)

So I´m not in the game! this sucks!

surftown.se - The company that hijacks your domain names and refuse to let you have your domain even though you registered it. SCUMS!!!!!!!

 

That sucks Marcus, you didnt even have time to do a 301, you not been paying your bills ? - your domain doesn't even expire till Nov, they have fairly locked down that domain.

Sufttown is really shit but what happened man? Is Surftown the domain registrar? Not Loopia?

 

I´ll guess I will have the rights to my domain otherwise Surftown.se really would be weird! The problem is the nameservers are still pointing to NS1.SURF-TOWN.NET.

I contacted my host more then 1 week ago about how we should solve the problem but only got a mail saying saying that they will look in to it??

Yep Jim! Surftown is the registrar....

Ok Marcus. Set up a new host and get the new DNS. Then call surftown and tell them to change the DNS to the new host while you wait on the phone.

Or even better, tell them to unlock the domain and make a transfer with Godaddy so that you get it over there instead.

EDIT: You are lucky it's a .com if it would be .se it would be weeks of paperwork and contracts ....

 

Better yet ... make a copy of your site and give it to alek to put on WPD. He'll fire it up ... tell surftown to wait 4 weeks before they give it back to you!

How can this happen? Did someone file a DMCA compliant or something? I figured some very nefarious things would happen near the end of the contest to the front-runners, so can't help but believe that might be the case here.

Real curious to hear more details on this as you find out. Sure, I'd like to beat you in the SERP's ... but in a fair fight ... what happened to you is bulls*it.

 

Not trying to make light of a very UNfunny situation Marcus, but if you were able to rank #1 (due to inbound links) for a page that is basically now an empty directory listing, that would be pretty frick'in hilarious ... ;-)

 

I´m gonna go for a domain transfer to a new account at Godaddy.com from my existing host Surftown.se.

Man! It is very hard to explain to these "Surftown" people why I´m in such a rush with this specific domain.
I also manged to 301 the page to the other contest page: v7ndotcomelursrebmem.nu
If Surftown for any reason still refuses to transfer my domain I have to play everything I got on the .nu page.. Which also could be interesting..

A more understandable post about this will come later on about the worst host ever "Surftown" in my blog (Well if I can keep it )

Good luck Marcus - your Donkey Kong page is showing in the #10 spot for me right now ... so having the redirect to it from your #4 MW page should have an interesting beneficial boost for you in the rankings. I've been wondering when the 301 redirects were going to start as we neared the end of the contest, but I guess you got forced to do so - good luck again sorting things out.

 

I've now updated the Movers & Shakers Page to reflect IBL acquisition. This info is being updated every 6 hours, so you can watch competitors link dumping from the coop or other private networks..

You'll notice certain correlations between those acquiring volume linkage and top ten placement. Folks, as much as it may look like the best way to go, don't read too much into it; good for a surge at the right time of course..
