According to your scorecard I just realized that this Google page site is also number 21 in this contest :) Sweet stuff! hehe...
One hell of a SEO or is it just a Google favor push?
No just kidding ;) There are no such things as Google favoring certain sites for those kind of reasons....

Actually, the right approach makes light work of it..

But then, that's a story for another day ;)

Besides, you seem to be doing quite well yourself ! :)

    Cheers,

Allright guys ... so my 3/15 update says the attached. Any of the experts out there want to chime in with their theories here - s*it happens, and I'm NOT here to whine about it - just trying to figure it out.

2006/03/15: Still puzzled by the abrupt drop in Google as it has slid to #12 despite having a PageRank of 7 (although PR is over-rated) and ridiculous number of backlinks from supporters - most of which are anchor-text'ed for V7ndotcom Elursrebmem. Per the ongoing stats table, this page continues to rank in the top-3 for MSN and Yahoo, but has dropped to the second page of results in Google. My only guess is the so-called "Google Bowling" phenomena may actually exist. I.e. it may be possible to knock a page down in the rankings using external factors as Google may penalize the target page due to what it considers unnatural linking. Normally a technique used by black-hats ... but in my case, it could be the natural exuberance of my (great) supporters - both may apply here (?) My hope is that Google will eventually sort this out in the next two months before the end of the contest on May 15th.

    Just a thought..

Perhaps the content of the pages (including titles etc) on which the links appear is significant. It's also possible that not everyone would describe your pages (naturally) with the same terms every time.

If your supporters were using the coop exclusively, rather than as part of a predefined linking model, the relevance of the links themselves may become diminished leaving volume the only factor (which itself is diminishing because of the rate at which it was acquired.. if it's natural, it usually needs a % of thematic growth to accur with it).

Perhaps I'm way off here, after all, only you know what your strategy is, but sometimes seeing it in writing encourages new angles ;)

    Just my 2c worth

    Cheers,

    JL

    Thanks Marcus
I work with illustrator for the cartoons and vector shapes and photoshop for the photo side of this picture. When you have the technique the most difficult is to find a funny idea :)

    Blogmaster no we don't unfortunately

Quick question: A lot of the leading sites are using the domain.com/keyword1-keyword2/ structure in this contest. Personally I have never noticed much difference between this structure and domain.com/keyword1-keyword2.html but for you guys to be using it there must be a good reason :)

Have you got good results with this in the past?

Really I can argue either way. A specific folder could be given more weight as its more important than a filename but conversely keeping files in the root directory could also help.

Nothing to do but watch and try to get to the top. I'm still woundering when every one will start trying to destroy every one in the top 10!! :D:D

I've been tempted to try Googlebowling on them, since me doing Googlebowling on my own sites got two of my own sites banned, but that might not be very nice.

Oh, wait, there the competition!! :D:D

I took on the challenge grabbing the ebay market and got it... I'm #1 and #2 for "v7ndotcom elursrebmem ebay" but it came out ebay.ca I will never be able to get in the top for the two keywords by themselves. How I did it is documented way back in this thread. Mostly keyword spamming, is there any other way? I got in the top 10 in days then dropped out the same day during the pr update. I'm back for now.

    redscowl-bluesingsky.net
    Lost PR and isn't indexed.
Was #1 in the contest for a while, then Shoemoney knocked it out of 1st.

    codeshq.com/webmasters/
De-indexed, and lost it's PR, though now it shows the PR 6 again. Might be an old PR datacenter. While 185,000 other URLs on the domain are still indexed. Looks like only one URL was banned on the domain.

I did massive Googlebombing on both the sites, in the Redscowl Bluesingsky contest...and ended up Googlebowling myself out!!! grrrr!!!!!
