v7n hacked

any of you know about V7N????? just went over there and BLAM! everything on the forum has been hacked by some saudi thing.

holy crap its everywhere.

anyway i wanted to put this out there to hopefully warn DP Forums from the threat and try to inform v7n admins or moderators if they are also members here.

dang! didnt see that comming. im joined over there (well, I guess not now) but there pretty big. I couldn't see how the webmaster could leave a hole for hackers for such a important forum

Yeah i noticed it also.. And im about to send the blogpost i did to adam then see this hacker message!!

 

its really intense. actually it happened in the past 10 minutes.

i was just browsing through and its all gone. can't access anything. but it was weird it started at the posts and moved to the main sections. almost like a virus.

how do sites get hacked like this,especially vbulletin, and why is it always saudi arabia or syria or egypt that does it?

and do they target specific ppl?

 

they can always just reset there servers. im sure they have backup

 

yea i know ............ but that forum is HUGE

 

If anyone has a direct line to John, they should be contacting him right now.

 

They need to ask imageshack to remove the image.
I'm sure someone there could easily restore the forum in couple of hours.

i looked over the file that was used in hacking the site. they have java script running a seperate file probably pretty well hidden. the file basically searches for the urls attached to the forum and places the new file there instead. i can't figure out if its actually replacing the old files or just covering them up. hopefully its not attacking the database.
