    Come on, Will.
There's no way that Hidalgo is in the same league as Battlefield Earth,
at least I could watch until the end of Hidalgo. :)

"Hidalgo" seems to be on HBO nightly... I never make it past the opening credits...

In the comic book genre, Ron Perlman's performance in Hell Boy and Mickey Rourke's performance in Sin City both dwarf anything done in V for Vendetta.

I had hoped for better from Hugo Weaving, but I suppose the mask is more than a bit of a handicap. Natalie Portman is as talentless as ever. Stephen Rea presented the only really competent acting in the entire film.

Of course, Stephen has a bit of an inside edge -- his wife served eight years in prison for a series of terrorist car bombings.

Perlman's work, the make up, genius in "Hell Boy"

    That's an understatement ;)

Although she showed early promise in "Leon".

Maybe she should do a sequel, when she's become a grown up assassin herself?
Loved Perlman in Hellboy, looking forward to number 2.

    Amazing movie.

Anyone with at least a semi-appreciation for political history should definetly see this one.

I saw the movie on Sunday, and I have to say that my favorite part of the movie wasn't even the fight scenes, though they were good. My favorite part was when Natalie was asked to confess or she would be taken to out to the chemical shed and be shot.

She said that she would rather be shot than confess to anything, and that was when it was revealed that V was the one who imprisoned her, and was testing her.

That was the most brilliant part of the movie. It really made me think. It made me think about what I'm willing to do to preserve my own freedom. The movie is excellent. With Charlie Sheen expressing doubts about the official 911 story, and the Wachowski brothers making movies about the government carrying out terror attacks, we may have a chance of keeping our liberties! :)

So... this lunatic was torturing her to show her that the government was bad... and then when she found out about it, she thanked him.

Shortly thereafter, he murdered everyone running the government, making the lesson moot anyway.

It seems like he just liked torturing little girls. Of course, it also seems like she enjoyed being tortured also.

Don't try this at home -- your results are likely to differ.

Actually Will she told him she was "always afraid" and "wished she wasn't" so she could be like her parents... he gave her that wish...

Your oversimplified analyzations of the movie just go to show it might be way above your head ;)

How can 'ya trust 'em when they can't even define Narrowback correctly.

Narrowback isn't used to describe a first generation mick, it's used to describe a lazy mick.

And look at their definition of red neck. What a load of crap. We accept people from all races into the glorious clan of the red neck. You just have to be able to put in an honest days work and you're in like flynn.

So ferret, please tell us about your experience as a redneck.

When did you buy your first truck? What kind of shotgun loads are you using these days? How is your roto-tiller working? Have you paid off your farm yet?
