I have a new site just about two months, it has indexed by google, and I also have built a number of backlinks, but there is still no traffic from google, can you give me some advice? The site is my first signature
Yes, but not too quicky. Backlinks should be acquired gradually. Getting thousands of backlinks in short period (mainly if are from high PR sites) are a red flag to Google and other Search Engines, and your site could be penalized.
I submitted my site to Google the day after it was made in mid-march and have had over 100 hits from Google, please understand though that everything I write comes from the top of my head and I probably have a couple hundred backlinks.
Almost none. It depends on your niche. If you found something that people search a lot but there are no websites or very few of them for that keyword, you will get some traffic grom Google. But otherwise, almost 0 at the beginning.
Add new content in your site + get back links. The only way to get traffic from search engines for new site is via New Content Boost. That is, Google love new content, so add as much as you can. Google rank new sites with new content high up in the search results but only for few days. So you need to add more content. In order to get a stable search engine traffic, you need to wait + keep building relevant + high quality back links.
You need to have quality content also apart from just having backlinks. Remember the keyword here is "quality". Build up the content slowly along with the backlinks. Then it won't be long before you start getting good traffic
If you do a fair bit of promotion than you should be getting a good amount traffic from google in 3 months. If you messed up and chose the wrong keywords, made bad promotion choices, or are lazy then you may never get good traffic from google, though.
Use the remaining 3 or 4 months of the sandbox period to improve your site's content and SEO. Once your site is out of the sandbox, you'll know.
Google is good search engine. Good thing with google is that for new sites if your contents are good and unique then you can achieve a good traffic without any pr.
I agree Its all about quality and uniqueness. Just keep adding new and unique content and you won't need to build backlinks because people will start linking to your site because they like it.
An SEO friendly site that gets regurlarly cached with some related backlinks should start to see instant traffic from google.
Start by submitting your site to a few social sites, this are authority links that will help your rankings or can give you social traffic: delicious, reddit, magnolia, furl, digg, faves, etc I saw you have feeds, so use programs like RSS Submit to submit your feed. This 2 techniques will help you...
I can totally relate. I have built quite a few sites in the last couple of months, and am only getting a trickle of traffic. Two of the sites have some pages spidered, but the third, and it's 20 subdomains, had a few pages indexed and providing a little bit of traffic, and "poof" two weeks ago the third and it's subs disappeared, nothing in Google for the third site and its subdomains. I have spent all my time creating new content, and none of my time promoting the sites, but that is coming, they are almost ready. I went by the theory of get the pages out there, content rich, then pretty up the sites a bit more before promotion. The link building starts VERY soon, I want them to be appealing enough to be accepted and linked too, before I start asking!! BWC
