Just how efficient is the US Postal Service when delivery goods shipped from Florida to Wisconsin?

Notice anything out of the ordinary here? Let's forget that I have been waiting on the last piece of my T-Top trim for about 2 weeks because it was on backorder...

So it goes from Orlando to Atlanta back to Orlando, then to Atlanta again?

    Hmmm..

Strange. What really sucks is I was in New Berlin at 1pm today just a block from where the part is. I wonder If I will see it in Lake Geneva, where I am tomorrow?

    Weird..

I will avoid usps at all costs. I had an intake manifold come in from 1 state away, it got repackaged because they tore up the first box. It was repackaged 40 miles from my house and still ended up completely hanging out of the second box and damaged. I think they had a throwing contest or someone ran over it with a forklift.. twice.

Hahaha, that reminds me of when the deliver guy was coming up the driveway, and I was looking out the window because I heard the truck (street I live on is a culdesac so not much action) so I hear it see him walking and he somehow drops the package and it falls into the brook so I see him go down the driveway and get the package and he goes back to his truck with the package and wipes it off I guess, and then comes back up the driveway and leaves it at the garage and leaves.

I went out and it was completely wet, luckily the jewelry wasn't damaged, but my mom did call and give them a piece of her mind:eek:

US Postal service ain't the best. UPS completely sucks. I am a DHL man myself. Though for my part I can say USPS didn't do bad delivering something I ordered once.

In all fairness, it is FedEx that is transporting the USPS mail, so I guess they are at the mercy of Fed Ex.

Fed Ex ain't the only one that transports USPS mail. Also I have had to do a hotshot load for Fed Ex when I drove truck because they couldn't keep up. For all that Fed Ex is still better then UPS. USPS handles all the mail in the country so a few late packages you can understand with the workload they have. UPS though ain't worth a shit which is why I think their trucks are brown to begin with.

USPS is not that reliable, but then again it is ran by the federal government if that tells you anything, lol at least you have a tracking number, do you have insurance on it as well in case it is not delivered..

The tracking number with USPS ain't worth shit. The package was delivered to my PO Box before the tracking number showed it had left the state it was coming from.

True, but in this case it is FedEx.

Actually, although this tracking looks goofy, it is quite reliable. In 11 years of business I have yet to see one lost letter, to or from. I know I have had customers claim to have not received an invoice, but they got it..

Anyway, it will get here eventually. It's like the missing puzzle piece to a 3 month long project that has cost a fortune!

    They have cool stamps too!

Yeah, the tracking numbers suck... I think they use them to look cool like Fed Ex and UPS.. In reality there is likely one person that manually updates the tracking numbers as well as the HTML on their web site. He probably does this using something like Claris Home Page or Front page.

The thing I like about UPS is for us, most everything we buy is shipped from Zone 1. So lets say I am buying something from CDW, which we do a lot of. It shows up NEXT DAY if I choose ground. So I can have something I really need that would normally be like $150 for overnight shows up next day for around 9 bucks.. Cool stuff.

The problem with places like buy and say , newegg as an example are, they never seem to ship things out the same day. That and they tend to drop ship out of manufacturers warehouses all over the country, so things are coming from different places. You are at the mercy of several different people in this case.

Amazon is the worst. I place an order yesterday with free shipping. Estimate ship date is 04/07. I change the shipping option to second day, extimate ship date change to today.

That means they have the stuff in stock and ready to ship..but since i chose free shipping they decided to hold my order for 7 days:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Yeah, Amazon is HORRIBLE.. Especially their private sellers. My wife ordered a gift from Amazon for her mom for Christmas back in early November of 2007. It arrived about 2 weeks ago!

    Nice....

USPS is very good, I've shipped out many many packages with them, and find them the cheapes. UPS is much better though, they give you a delivery date, and detailed tracking.
