    Hey Guys...gotta question....

How do i use Yahoo Site Explorer?

I was told this is what I need to do but i'm not sure how to apply this for my project.

    1) query for a competitive kw
    2) use yahoo site explorer for the non branded sites that top rank (1-3)
    3) look at links....voila..you want the links for OUR sites
    4) plug them all into tool and hit them for our own links

someone from a different forum gave me these instructions but i'm unsure about steps 3 and 4.

    can anyone assist?

    thanks-
    drew

Yahoo siteexplorer could give you an insight information of your website including indexed pages, link popularity and sitemap correction. However, this one could not be used if you are optimizing for Google since most of backlinks and indexed pages shown via Yahoo Siteexplorer are only counted based on Yahoo perspective and not Google. I would recommend you use it with careful to get maximum output for your seo efforts.

Wow sounds like a question for a professional backlink service. When in doubt that is what I do check with them.

Using Yahoo site explorer, you can see your site indexed pages and back links to your site. you can use yahoo site explorer to analyze your competitor site too.

maybe similiar with Google Webmaster, but yahoo site explorer will display much more detail about the sites that send the link back to your site. . .
but whether the yahoo directory also provides backlinks?

the yahoo site explorer provide the facility to check the backlinks except from domain,or other options,it is also helpful for the competitor baclinks like the google but there is difference in the query

That's what norally people do for the link building.
the step 3 & 4 mean that you copy down all the link and then build link on them (can be request, submit, comment etc)
