:D Some people have been asking on how to raise the site's value without working hard to build its statistics (PR, Alexa etc.) and getting a good design.

Getting good contents to your site might be difficult as well as you will either to outsource or find all those information around.

If you are lazy like me, I always used videos. Videos are good ways to showcase what you want and what you want to do. Plus, videos did help me raise most of websites' values.

To know more : check out my post http://desmondblog.com/how-to-use-videos-in-your-websites-to-make-big-bucks-in-site-flipping/

So, tell me what you think about using video to increase website's value?

Is it easy, difficult or not worth it?

it takes a good eye and a creative mind to making a good video

but yes a video can add value tremendously but if its crap it does little more than take up space

Video is a great way to hold someone's attention and to connect to people quickly. But like Erik said it's gotta be good quality.

    Your your link above
So your using someone else's hard work to improve your site? Maybe that is why a lot of youtubers are disabling the embed feature?

I missed the part in your article were you said that a link to the real author of the video should be provided? Did I miss that part, or did you leave it out? Do you not want to give credit the author? If you dont, why not? If you do want to give credit to the author of the video, why didnt you mention it in your article?

Because of stuff like what you are doing, that is the exact reason why I brand all of my videos. You want to borrow someone elses work, profit from from their labor, and not even give a backlink to their youtube profile.

To make sure I get the credit I deserve in my videos, I add my website name at the start of every video, at the end, and copyright information in the ending credits. And about 1/2 of my videos have a watermark with my site address through the entire video.

Link to my youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/survivalistboards

Lets say for a minute that you posted one of my videos on your site. And you used my video for the sole purpose of increasing your sites value. Well, I think I deserve part of the money from the sale.

After all, my hard work and my labor did contribute to the value of your site, did it not? But you want to keep all of the profit from the sale? That is not quit how it works - especially if you are using copyrighted material that belongs to someone else for your own personal gain. And that is basically what you are doing.

At the very least, give credit where credit is due. Provide a backlink to the youtube profile (or even the website) of the author of the video. Especially if the video was made in a professional manner, and if you are trying to use the video to promote your own product.

So desmondblog stole the video? Yeah, people need to give credit to whom credit is due.

I would really like to start doing video soon. Not sure how to go about it. But I definitely like the idea...of creating my own videos that is.

I didn't actually visit the site of the person to whom the above reply was posted, but I agree with every sentiment expressed by ~kev~. Credit should be given to the person whose work is giving value to your site. That is true for both videos and content from article directories. With video it's even easier to do the right thing, because it's just a link. With articles one has to deal with crap resource boxes and badly written links (like, "if you're looking for more information, then click Here." Anyways, the whole sharing value concept would not be sustainable if one party does not honor the agreement and understanding of giving credit where it's due.

Well, of course I missed out on the point where you should credit the authors of the videos. :-p

Normally, instead of giving away a link (my PR is precious), I normally just say something like "This video by (YouTube username) is totally awesome. Try to find him on youtube as he did created some totally awesome videos".

Of course, it is the best to brand videos.

    And I don't steal videos. :-p
