    Hey All,

Got a personal question. I've got a fair bit of paypal payments to send out in US funds; I'm in Canada but have a US dollar credit card (that I can pay off with my US dollar bank account).

How can I force paypal to use my US dollar credit card directly? Whenever I put in my credit card number, it recognzies that I have a canadian account and forces me to login. That puts it through my Canadian account, where I get nailed high exchange rates.

    Two choices currently:
paypal account (canadian)>paypal converts US to Cdn>draws from my Cdn. bank account, I pay high exchange

    or
I enter US dollar credit card,>paypal forces me to login, we're back to the first situation.

    What I'd like:
Enter my US dollar credit card>paypal charges it directly in US funds>I pay my credit card from my US dollar account, pay no exchange rate fees.

Unfortunately paypal won't let me hook up my US dollar bank account to my paypal account.

Anyway around this so that I'm not paying Paypal's high exchange rates, and then my bank's exchange rate again?, i.e. as a canadian draw US right from my US credit card without converting currencies?

Why not use your US Bank account and add it to your paypal, and send all payments via eCheck, all in USD ?

Open a US bank account (not a US dollar account) with Royal Bank, and use that US bank account to withdraw US funds or deposit US funds from that US bank account.

I've asked the staff in Royal Bank, and he told me the US bank account is located in US and everything works exactly like an US bank account plus you can transfer the fund within any of your Royal Bank bank account via online banking.

I believe what he is having is a US dollar account (located in Canada), not a US bank account.

Correct, I've got a US dollar bank account in Canada, and a royal bank US dollar credit card. I'd like to use the royal bank credit card to pay using paypal in US funds, then I pay the US dollar credit card from my US dollar (but Canadian) bank account.

Paypal won't let me use my US dollar bank account as a source. And whenever I try and use my US credit card I believe they want to convert from US to Canadian (charging me exchange) then run a canadian dollar amount on my US credit card, which then charges me again to convert back to US funds. I get nailed twice for conversions.

I guess, does anyone know if there's any way to have paypal charge a canadian in us funds, without doing the conversion?

I have a US dollar account and a US dollar credit card with RBC too. Since the US dollar account and the US dollar credit card are located in Canada, so PayPal charge the card in Canadian funds. The only way to have PayPal charges us in US funds is to have a bank account or a US credit card that actually located in US.

I am from Singapore and I have a Payoneer Debit Card issued by the First Bank of Delaware. I wanted to use that card for the same reason as you and when I wrote to Paypal about it, they told me to just add it into their system as if I am adding a new credit card, enter everything as it should but just ignore the 'Country' as that would be tagged to your home country. If it gets approved, it would work.

My Paypal address is 'Singapore' and the Payoneer card requires me to use their 'New York' address and it worked. So whenever I make payment, I have the option to select my Singapore Credit Card billed in SGD$ and the Payoneer card which is billed in US$.

I am not sure if it is because I wrote to them and they disable the checking or it is like that all the time.

No, because your card is issued by First Bank of Delaware. If I am not wrong, First Bank of Delaware is located in US and PayPal bills it in USD$ because they recognize the card is issued in US.
