Using twitter hashtags to get more followers

    Does anyone know how I can use twitter hashtags to get more followers? I have identified some of these individuals who regularly tag a few words that are relevant to my niche. I'm already following some of them. How can I get them to follow me? I can't "dm" them because they are not following me. Any suggestions?

    You can't and it maybe that you don't need to. If they say something useful you can still reply. If they enjoy your responses and find the rest of what you say interesting they'll decide to follow you.

    hashtags is offcoarse important.
    Search some tags yourself and find people that say things you find interesting, follow them
    (If you want followers back, better don't follow people with like 1000 followers and following 2)

    ping interesting new related to your nich.. then you follow others. They follow you automatically if you are pinging interesting news

    find busy hashtags that is related to your niche. Busy hashtags have a lot of users that can be followers

    Follow who have less follower and following, they will response to your follow request. USE #tag to get highlighted in the search

    Make tweets about trending topics with the hashtags, you could get followers that way.

    Thanks for the tips. I have been using Twitter that is related to my site for a month or so and although gaining daily followers, not really seeing much in terms of a change in traffic. I shall try the trends and hash tags and see if I reach a larger audience.
