By SEO you mean you want to get traffic from twitter to your website? Almost all Twitter stuff I've seen is the same. Just build a giant list of followers and post regular informative Tweets to your Twitter page to keep them happy. There's software that will allow you to automatically build your Following list based on keywords you choose, and then you rely on people following you back. These people should be somewhat targeted by the keywords so they should like your content. It's mostly about branding your business in another medium. Did this answer your question at all?
Twitter doesn't give you SEO benefits directly by leaving your links. It can be used to share informational and interesting things with others. Some big names also uses it for brand awareness. Suppose you have a good followers count and they are really interested in your tweets, then you can tweet about your website,new blogpost etc. and if people find it good and interesting they will link to it.
Twitter is the best tool for our traffic , if followers are really interested in our product then we can get good business.
Twitter is not about SEO...it's about social media and brand awarness. The whole idea is to tweet great content so your followers will link to it in their blogs or websites. As for the traffic itself...it might be good as quantity but the quality is pretty crap. Hope this helps
all twitter links are nofollow, that means you wont have backlink credit from them. it could help indexing though.
SEO stands for search engine optimization. Can someone please explain to me HOW twitter can help with optimizing a site for search engines???? The links from twitter are nofollow's, so that will not help with any off-page SEO Twitter has nothing to do with on-page SEO. I am really really confused how you all think Twitter can help SEO ???? I can see how Twitter can help drive traffic to a site, by what has that got to do with SEO?????

Twitter is meant for traffic booster but recently many Twitter application blogs and sites created and it gives good number of backlinks to your profile page URL. However, Twitter itself does not carry dofollow link (it is nofollow) on all links including your bio profile website link and the tweets.
