So I just started a blog with a bunch of sub categories which means lots and lots of keywords that I can use. When I'm using keywords in my text, is there a point where I can use too many different keywords? To clarify, I'm not talking about keyword density. I'm compiling a list of keywords that I think goes along with my niche/blog that has traffic on the engines. Is there a point where I use too many different keyword (phrases) that will decrease my ranking on google for certain terms? For example, i'm doing a porn blog, if I have a large set of relevant keywords for straight, anal, orgy, and etc. And use them for each category. Will google penalize/dilute my site so that I will get lower ranking? for main and sub pages?
I also have thoughts on this issue. I think the good thing with having too many keywords is that you get search engines have a feel what the page is about by looking at keywords that are related. On the other hand it seems that there is sort of loss of focus when optimizing for many keywords. But I don't believe that there will be a dilution effect or a search engine penalty. In short, if you feel that these keywords are important in the page for a human visitor's sake then go for it.
using specified keywords for the page currently visible is a plus for advertising couse your visitors interested in your content so ads that is same vith your content will be clicked more..
If you are spreading these keywords over various pages/categories in such a way as to focus on one set of keywords per category and the the pages in those categories target specific variations ( 3, 4, 5 word phrases) then your pages should hit lots of long tail traffic. Each category could focus on certain "big game" keywords, those highly competitive 1 and 2 word phrases. Then the pages within the category, your blog postings should use related terms, containing those 1 and 2 words, and/or plural and "...ing", "...er", ...ist", "...ism", etc. variations, plus a few other words. Use these 3 and 4 word phrases for your page titles, and drop'em in the text body too, of course. Watch your server stats to see the long 3, 4, 5 word search strings people are using to find your pages. This will give you lots of ideas for new pages and longer terms to target. Keep mining your logs each month to find more and more topics. Put them in a spread sheet so you can sort them. You will see some patterns around certain groupings of words. Don't be delusional and think your new blog could possibly compete for a term like "oral sex", your 10 years too late to that game. But if you had 10+ different pages in that category you may be surprised by the traffic you do pick up from those people typing in longer search strings. Plus another 10 pages in another category, and 10 more in another, etc.
