Using the same public IP. Will it lead to ban ?

    Hi,

I am working in an SEO firm which have about 60 employees in all, hooked to net using single public IP.

As far I know at least 5 in my company are in DP including me.

If by any chance we all will be banned because its shown as a single IP ?

If I remember correctly I don't think you will. I think Shawn looks into other things to see if you are the same person hiding in a different account.

We won't ban you just for sharing the IP, there are indeed perfectly acceptable reasons for that.

However... Do not abuse it. Example: you have a thread in Buy Sell Trade and it's a bit slow so you get your colleague from the next cublice to bump it with a n obvious comment or blatanlty obvious fake testimonials etc. Rep whoring also falls under it.

Best practice is to pretend you don't know the other guys :)

    An interesting post you know..

    TOPS30:
Dont you think there will come one day a hacker that willl just flood the forums if you keeps those proxies allowed? And please, dont tell me we have good protection, if they flodded google with millions of crappy pages, they will script the **** our of the vBulletin engine.

I vote for closing access for the open proxies.
And don't shot at me, that's my opinion anyway :D

I can't access DP from my library, college or school without using a proxy. And I'm sure many other can't either, so getting ride of that would be a bad idea.

We have protection beyond VB's standard stuff. I'll leave it at that.

I guess that'd just be a problem with your layout - DP don't stop anyone getting in as far as I know.
