I am wondering about the marquee tag.

Will search engines index the links in a marquee tag?

    Thanks

i made a test for that once and the result was negative...

i keept a link in a marquee tag for about 1 year but google didn't show it in the serps when i checked for it... though it also might be because the low percentage of back links shown by google...

Your two most important tags are the title tag and keyowrds tag everything else doesn't really matter

I think Search Engines don't consider marquee tags, otherwise it would have been so easy to stuff all your keywords in marquee.

Well it seems that there is no firm info on if the links would be picked up or not and a lot of the comments had no value at all...

Yeah, I have a network of about 30 celeb sites. I would like to make each site available from all the other sites, so I'm thinking that I could add all the links into a marquee. That way, they would all be on one line, and probably LESS gawdy than 30 links stuck in the footer.

A lot of sites still use them for 88x31 buttons for their link partners.

Don't worry, I'll try to keep the animated gifs to a minimum! ;)

    Thanks

    it means

    1) marquee is not used anymore
    2) not data could be found cause it is not being used

gosh...do i have to spell every word out....

btw, marquee is freaking annoying, that's why it is deader than....dead, i would not recommand use it for your vistor's sake

I really wish someone would spell it out. That's exactly what I am looking for.
Thanks for the recommendation, but the question remains...

Will search engines index the links in a marquee tag? I can find no definitive answer.

    Thanks
