I am currently building a site that features info for widget stores every state.

is it best for me to just use Directories like; MySite.com/California.html

or would using CA.MySite.com be better or a combination of the two like; CA.Mysite.com/California.html

I would go in for MySite.com/California.html as this is more seo friendly will rank more faster on Google. Please correct If I am wrong on this.

You go better with directories, page rank pass easier from the domain to a page or directory.

I'm also maintaining opinion that directories more search engine friendly than sub-domains.
