We mostly all agree that using social media can increase traffic to your website and awareness of your product or service. However, I've noticed that with all the talking heads we have over the Internet with blogs, ebooks, message boards, and podcast promoting the usage of social media, no one really explains HOW to get into it from a decidedly "scratch" standpoint. This doesn't really apply to using YouTube or LinkedIn, but more to platforms such as Twitter or Facebook where you "build" an audience to bring awareness of your business presence. How do you get started with using Twitter or Facebook with no pre-existing audience? How do you create a following on Twitter and/or Facebook from "scratch"?
