I have finally bought a domain, as well a hosting. Now it comes down to content. I was using this adwords keyword tool to pick out some good low competition keywords but couldnt make heads nor tails out of it. Some keywords had about 4000 searches during the last month and had average competition and others had about 2500 hits and had low competition. Are these number of hits (4000, and 2000) good enough for me to make a site on the niche and write content upon them. If not, then how many hits should a good keyword have? And what is meant by average, high competition? Thanks.
i would say that it depends on your budget. If you have a big budget, you can go all-out on SEO for a high competition keyword.
I've had good success with low search and low competition. You just need to do a lot of pages! It's the numbers game. If there are 200 to 1000 searches a month with less than 10,000 results pages (put your search term in quotes when you check) then I go for it.
Just do it manually, its really easy, effective and a lot cheaper. If you built a site that you really want people to access you will take the time to do SEO in it.
