I have three sites. Two are on dedicated servers with different companies and C-Class IP's. It's time to move the third to a dedicated server and I'm thinking about moving to one of the companies hosting my other site. They said they have the same "primary" c-class IP, but it would be on a different "secondary" class IP? How does Google look at c-class IPs? Thanks.
A Class C is a Class C is a Class C. If you have two Domains on 192.168.72.xxx google know they are on the same server. But this only matters if you're trying to do something spammy with the domains. If you're using one to crosslink to the other extensively... you could get penalized. If the sites have nothing to do with one another... rock on!
I have one main link on the homepages of each site to the other sites. I'd hate to devalue that link by hosting the sites on the same c-class IP.
I have almost 20 websites on 2 dedicated servers, and hence same C-Class IPs. I have cross-linked them without any problems in the past - sites have turned up as PR5-6 and some rank high on Google for fairly competitive keywords.
