More of a question really. Can RSS help to promote and gain links to my sites? My impression is that the Feed Sites with benefit more than me. Also does anyone know of any good RSS Feed Submit Sites? I think weblogs.com is quite good, but don't know how to get on it.
It is my understanding that if you publish a feed to your site, and that feed is posted at a separate site, then yes that link will count as a backlink from whatever site posts the feed.
Yes. If someone or some site is displaying your RSS feed, and the Google bot scans that page at the same time, then that should count as a link to your site from theirs. Then the more people use your feed, the more incoming links you will get. This is esecially what thie "Recenet Blog" thing does here in this forum. It reads from our feed pages, and displays the first title in our feed. Then Google indexes this forum and we all get backlinks. Just like signatures, but with dynamic achor text according to our blog post titles. Very useful. See my blog and you will see how I am displaying a Vegan Porn (not adult) news feed on the right hand side. So they will get links from my domain. AS far as sites that will host your feed, you gotta look around. Blogwise.com will provide you a link for free. http://www.blogwise.com/bycountry.php?country=1&offset=13640 is a PR5 page with link to my blog. There is Feedster ... go here to add http://www.feedster.com/add.php And there are others, just look around.
I vote that Syndication will be big in 2005. Especially for Blogs and other news sites. Which reminds me .. Syndic8.com is another site to submit to.
