Anyone here try rent a list to market affiliate program? I have been using other affiliate marketing methods, but have not try out this yet. Just thinking of another way to increase my affiliate profits and rent a list come to my mind.. Anyone here have got successful result?
If you mean by renting the list, you get the list and do the mailing yourself, STOP! You will be opening up yourself to SPAM accusations and possible big-time headaches. While it is perfectly legal for anyone to sell a list, it is illegal for the buyer to mail to that list since the list members are NOT opted into the buyer. They are opted into the seller....if he/she obtained them legally. Now, if you mean by renting the list, the company does the mailing for you, then that is legal...as long as they have obtained the list legally...in other words all the list members have opted into this company for mailings. If this arrangement is what you are referring to, make sure you do your homework before spending any money. Try to find 3rd party reviews on the company and their services. Ask them for references. Do NOT just go by what they say and the testimonials on their site. Anyone can put anything on their site and fake testimonials are rampant across the internet. It is always preferably to create your own list. It takes time, but in the long run, it will be more profitable then any list you can "rent". Be careful! Jim
