Using Photobucket for blog image hosting?

Has anyone used a photobucket or flickr pro account to offload image hosting from a high traffic blog? I am helping a friend start a blog that will likely get at least 20,000+ visitors daily, but he doesn't want to use a dedicated host. My first blog (in my sig) received ~15,000 visitors/day at its peak, but above this the host seemed to slow a bit.

I've seen ImageShack and flickr used on some sites with >100,000 visitors per day (e.g. Neatorama), seemingly without issue. What are the potential drawbacks of doing this?

    Thanks,
    Anita :)

I use Imageshack myself for the pics - this way its makes it easier if I have to change hosts/servers.

The only drawback in this could be if Imageshack or Photobucket stopped their services, but this is unlikely - so I'd suggest you to go ahead with it..

Yeah, if you are worried about bandwidth issues, Imageshack is a very popular alternative for you. Use them without worries. And as said, it becomes extremely simple when you change hosts.
