hardly use paypal now due to all the adress verification restrictions applied by paypal.... tend to lose customers when u have to refund their payments...had one chargeback when we sent items to an unconfirmed address but I suppose that was our fault for not following guidelines. mainly use nochex now and elec transfers etc.

I use paypal and never had any problems... I even had my account go under and they just waited for me to pay it. It was still accepting payments. I even made a sale while it was under.

If you do business with a legal mindset you should be alright.

dont think that was unique to you or a priviledge as such..if your accounts under..making a sale would put funds in it so i dont think paypal would be banning that

So far PayPal hasn't give any trouble except for a few complaint cases where I was really pissed at...but putting that aside, i've been using them for almost 2 years and I love them. As long as you're be careful with who you're dealing with and do legit business you're fine

PayPal is... well... PayPal. I've been buying/selling through them for more than four years now, and I've got one thing to say: if you want a perfect world, look elsewhere. PayPal is the most used online payment system now, and to conform with what most others have, you've gotta use it (especially if you're selling on eBay!) :)

I've had numerous chargebacks filed against my company, and every time, the customer wins. Unfortunately, their system for chargebacks isn't the best, but considering that I sell digital goods (and not physical), most of the time I don't lose anything anyways, so it isn't that bad.

Lost $1,500 one time due to fraud. Scary stuff...

When Paypal locks your account, do they also block access to your normal bank account that is associated with your paypal account?

Hey. do u know how long it takes to get a chargeback processed.

I don't sell on ebay but we sell alot of stuff (computer services) on one of their former partner sites.

I had one client that wanted a refund which I denied. The client went to the site which tried to resolve the matter but the client disappeared all of a sudden.

Its been about a month and I haven't heard from the client or received any emails from paypal.

    Any insight would be helpful

I think you have some dispute with ebay. As paypal is an ebay company so for their safety they can lock it. But yes paypal is not so convenient.

Personally never had any problems with PayPal myself. Although I don't sell too much and when I do it's usually low-value stuff. But speaking of PP, I have written a handly little PayPal Fee Calculator that you may want to check out, for anyone that's interested. It helps when you want your buyer to pay your fees, but you know you can't ask your buyer to pay your fees so you have to increase the selling price of your item (to cover the cost of those fees). This will tell you how much you need to increase your selling price by to get the amount you actually want. :)

I think paypal is not alone enough as you may loss sales from those customers who dont use CC. Even most of the accounts at paypal are still lying unverified. Better to have alternate payment processor alongwith paypal.

Humm..... I have been cheated before but not by paypal by scammers who used fraud credit cards. And It was a total loss of $5200 in 3 months.

But then I sell scripts and digital goods Which are locked and make a call Home. i.e. check for licence on my server. So I just deleted the licence and the scammers are scammed. :D
