I am thinking of registering a domain for my company. Unfortunately, the most suitable name was already taken. if I register a domain ending with a 0 (zero), will it affect my SEO efforts?. Does SE's recognise such domains?. Please some one clarify. Your help is much appreciated.
0 or any number in domain will not affect your SEO efforts, but people don't remember domains with numbers like they do alphabets. Plus that is really confusing in case of word of mouth marketing... Like "B4U" might be understood as "BeforeYou", "BFourYou", or "BForYou" when people talk about it... Bye
Why wouldnt it effect SEO? My thinking is it would be much harder to rank with a zero. For example, SEO over SE0. SEO has the exact terms searched for. Am I wrong here? Thanks.
Registering a domain ending with a zero is not the same as replacing the letter Os with zeros. The former is the question at hand here.
You are not wrong, but you are not considering other factors used to rank a site... 100 "related" sites link to seo0 with "seo" in anchor, 10 sites link to "seo" with "good site" in anchor... Which one would you choose to be a seo site? BTW, I think the person is not "replacing" o with zero(0), instead is adding a 0 in the end... Bye
It'd be better if you could use a prefix like "The" "My" "Our" or a suffix like "company" "co" "intl" etc. You could go on my blog mytalkz.com there is a whole guide out there for purchasing a domain, you'd get lots of ideas from there IT
Why cant you just register the exact name but with a different TLD suffix? It would be better using some .biz or .ws instead of changing the actual domain name, making it confusing or spam-looking or hard to remember.
Well, I wanted to register "classifieds" .com site but all the different TLDs are taken. So I thought of "classifieds0" .com.
To me that doesnt sound right at all. Sounds like you have 0 classified listings. Is this a niche classifieds site or a general one?
