Not much of a help on this one, but I own a couple of sites that have the myspace name in them..not developed yet though...I haven't received any notices obviously...but someone once told me....it is kind of like a Patent....

Patents carry mixed feelings with some people because if someone starts to make a product like yours, you send them a C&D letter...they stop, sell the business to someone else or stay on as a partner/shareholder and the company starts up again under new ownership and you are spending more money to try and shut them down too....and on, and on, and on...

Before long, it really gets too expensive to keep doing it......

Not saying that it is alright or anything...but there are a lot of people out there with the mySpace name and in their domain names and it would get mighty expensive to stop them all.....didn't they kind of start trying to bust people for illegal downloads of songs??? Haven't heard anything on that lately...looks like a scare tactic move.....just a couple of poor souls got took down over it......8(

But again....I'm not saying that it is alright to use the name in a domain name...but for the record, one day I will develop mine into a site and launch it...

They can't just sue you, they need to send a legal warning Cease and Desist letter first.

what about some sites that only have the word space on it but they are social community also.
like: surferspace, americanspace, indianspace, latinospace, ukspace, francespace.... etc
    I don't think it matters?
    Thanks
