    Hi guys

I am redesigning my website using Joomla cms as the platform. I have several pages for which I have a single column template design. However I want to put different text in the footer of the template for each of these pages. To achieve this I am planning to do the following:

1 Copy the template folder and its contents using FTP software
2 Rename the copied template folder using FTP software
3 Change the text in the footer of the new template via FTP sofyware
4 Assign the relevant menu button on the website to the new template via the Joomla admin panel.

    Will this work?
Would I have to rename all the files in the new template foder or just the template folder?

Define different footer in custom HTML and assign them the menu item when they will be enable this is the easiest way to serve different footer. What you are doing right now is not feasible and will increase the size of your website.

You will have to rename some of hte files in order for Joomla to recognize the new template.

You can do everything you are wanting to do with one template.
