Hi there, I am selling game cards etc on my website. Would I break the law if I at all the gaming card logo's on the footer? For example: Cards available for games like: AION - World Of Warcraft - Conquer Online - MapleStory --- And If I will use the logo's instead of the name.. Will I break the law or do I just put underin my footer this text: "All logos and trademarks are the property of the respective trademark owners." ?
I don't think you'll break any rules if you put that on the bottom of the logos. Everything should work out well.
IANAL. If you are an authorized retailer, you're allowed to show the product you are selling. Trademark law is written to prevent one company from masquerading as another using their logo. As long as there is no confusion for the customers, generally it's not a problem. If you want to be sure, contact an intellectual property attorney. It might cost a few bucks, but it's money well spent.
Even if you don't have permission(But you should get..) I don't see any legal grounds of using LOGOS/ARTWORK as long as your not benefiting from the work itself(selling it) as long as your using it to sell there product they won't harass you as your gaining them business not to mention you wouldn't be using there work/trademarks in a way to defame them in any way(hope not..).
