I started with a affiliate program that sells a few differnt products im wondering how many of you use landing pages and if so what information should be on them and also how well do landing pages work for you?

For example the url i would use points to the affiliates home page but the product is probly a click away i think this might be a bad thing and cause the loss of sales maybe i should make a landing page that will include a copy of the product details and a order button that would take them into the affiliates site???

Can't wait to hear what you guys have to say.

Try to get the customers as close to the affiliate as you can. Some affiliate programs offer you custom landing pages on their servers. I would highly recommend that since you are already paying for adwords.

On my landing pages, I try to pre-sell the product as much as I can. Put "buy now" links and link directly to the companies shopping cart (if possible).

The more the customer has to click, the more chances they will go away.

Agreed. The less clicks they have to make to get to the order page the better. Don't give them too many options.

Landing pages are a necessity on adwords when your merchant sites uses pop-ups, they won't let you link directly to them or you are competing with too many others using the same url.
