When searching for keywords, do you use "Broad, Exact, or Phrase"?

A domain with 165,000 "Broad" searches a month comes up with only 350 "Exact" searches and 590 "Phrase" searches... Which is the one that matters most?

I suppose your question is with regards to finding keywords for Adwords. Here's my view...

Broad Match: Say for instance some one is searching for the best make money online ebook, if they type in the keyword - the best make money online ebook - they'll be presented with all sorts of results with little or no direct result showing them what they actually want. That is, what they get is an unfiltered result on the best make money online ebook. Broad matches are usually just typed in directly into the browser and this is what most people use to search the web.

For phrase match the result is filtered a bit compared to the broad match but still contain some indirectly related search results. e.g. If someone searches for the best make money online ebook, they'll get result from other keywords phrases containing similar results like how to get the best make money online ebook etc. Phrase matches are usually represented with the "xxxxx" i.e. the keywords inbetween a double quotation.

Exact match on the other hand is more refined as the user often gets the exact result for their search. The more closely related to an exact match your keyword is, the more likely your Ad or site will be ranked higher above others'. Represent exact matches using square brackets i.e. [xxxxx] where xxxx is your particular keyword.

I'm not an expert in this but I hope the above helps. There are tons of information available online to tackle this issue if you need more.

    All the best!!!

I think Dynameek summed it up pretty well. I always just play around in Adwords when I'm creating a new keyword ad with a broad match and phrase match. I've never messed with having an ad group running exact matches though. Hmmmm...maybe I should try that too? Anybody had some luck using exact matches?

broad match keywords mean much impression but low CTR (Click Through Ratio)
phrase match....... / impressions lower, CTR goes high.
exact match keywords mean low impression but high CTR

I recommend you to use broad match keywords but very selected ones for your business. And don't forget to use negative keywords. That will increase your CTR thus a high QS (quality score) thus a minimized CPC.
