Using just the links inside of affiliate codes

Hello, I'm pretty new to affiliate marketing, I stuck a Busted Tees banner on a blog and made $15 last year, but that's about it. What I'd like to do now is take my affiliate link, say for Best Buy, then search around for a product I think I could promote and sell, and sell that specific product. Is this possible?ard

In case that is confusing, say I log into Linkshare or Clickbank and I see that Best Buy has a text link ad that says "Click here for 8% off TV's," can I, instead of copying and pasting the whole code onto my site, just paste the url in my browser and search around for a product I can sell?

Also, I've heard recently that some affiliate programs like Amazon expire really quickly, which would not benefit me when I'm intending to keep a wide selection of products up for a while. Is this true, and do people with similar goals avoid Amazon Associates?

    Thanks!

I don't belive that you can do exactly what you want to do with product specific links. However, I know that LinkShare and Comission Junction both offer product specific links as a link type that you can use instead of banners. Check that out and you may find what you are looking for.

    Good luck.
