Hi All, I have recently installed Joomla with the goal of being able to use my previously coded pages and improve them by allowing the client to edit/add content and take advantage of the big module library, etc. I've been going through ALOT of beginner documentation that seems to touch on my issues, but eventually digresses into templates and themes...things I want nothing really to do with. What is the best way to go about using previously coded HTML and CSS pages without the need to work with templates? When I click 'My Site', the work I have done (which is in the same folder as the Joomla files) appears perfectly, however I can't locate these files within the backend admin panel...although under media my Images are there (I assume because I merged my Image folder with that of Joomla. I'm a little confused as to the best way to use the system. My end goal for the CMS is simply to provide a one-stop for me to view pages, images, and potentially add in plugins and modules to strengthen the work I've already accomplished. I know that I should be going through tutorials to resolve these things, but I haven't had much luck with the documentation I've found to date. Cheers, any help is really appreciated!
Hellow HUMMIKE, Well. Joomla is a best CMS its true. It's Page are organized by database and table. Joomla has its own HTML and CSS, you have to modify and CSS and HTML. I think you can not use ur Existing HTML code but you apply your designe codding on Jooml's CSS. Try more plz
Hi, I guess my question then becomes...should I be using Joomla? I don't want to have to re-write HTML or CSS, and I can get by with free plugins online for forms, etc. The big thing is allowing permissions to certain users of the site, and logging changes to the site. Most of my sites are very simple sites (ie. about, resume, portfolio, contact), and quite honestly I want absolute control over the design including that of the buttons, menus, etc. I'm not really sure what i need....
