    Hi,

I need to make an eCommerce website and I have zeroed in on a template. But the template is compliant with Joomla 2.5 and not the latest version 3.3. I need to know is it advisable to use a older version of Joomla now, what are the pros and cons?

Joomla 2.5 is also stable and fully secured. In-fact i believe it's more mature than 3x. You will find more of the compatible extensions as well. So there is no issues in continuing with joomla 2.5x. I do all my new project with 2.5x only.

I use 2.5 exclusively. I will probably stay at 2.5 until it is no longer supported.

If for shopping cart and you use VM you should use Joomla 2.5 stable have tons of extensions supported.

but for new site and for information I should go on Joomla. 3.X.X
