Using Images

On my site (Seriously-Free.com) I'm trying to place images of box covers for movies, so the site has more images, and the layout looks more interesting. However, I was wondering about the legality of using other web pages images as long as I am recognizing the source. I have found that I cannot use the images from IMDb because they block the images from getting through to my site. Am I aloud to download these images from IMDb as long as I am giving them credit? Sorry for my lack of knowledge about this subject.

No giving credit to a site doesn't mean you can just go off and steal their images without permission. You can try emailing and asking if you can use them but for a site like imdb my guess is the answer will be no.

If you sign up as an Amazon.com as an affiliate, they have images of DVD box covers you can use.

That's what I was beginning to think, I just thought since it was something like a box cover it wouldn't matter. However, thanks for the advice.

You should have permission of the copyright holder. They may or may not have conditions to use.
