Greetings I have a site that has several thousand pages of content and the ad's are always in the same place on the page. Now i would wan't to make an Iframe that would point to external html file that would contain my banners and adsense. I would do this because if i want to change a banner for some of my advertisers, or adsense to something else, i would need to edit just one file to change all the thousands of pages. However i saw some where that adsense might not work with Frames, anyone have any experiences? Please help! Cause it's pain to change thousands of pages and some poor indian boy would be forced to make it. Sir. Turhapuro
I can tell you as a fact that my XML site (a CMS that uses a plugin system) has adsense as plugins on every page. Adsense cannot see any content whatsoever, and it appears to be going by what's on the sidebar and meta tags, but it does an extremely poor job of that, even after 3 months of being up. I would advise against anything situation where Adsense is not placed directly on the same area as the content. If you're using something like Wordpress, there are plugins that will place the code for you, and it will allow Adsense to see the content. Otherwise, you'll probably have the same fate as me.
take a look at www.openads.org That way you put in the ad code into each page and can change the ad without changing the code. OpenAds also has the ability to track clicks on adsense ads. Pierce
I also remember reading somewhere that placing ads in an iFrame is not allowed, but I can't find that reference now, so I can't answer for sure whether it's against TOS or not. I'm sure somebody will know. Although I can see one glaring reason why it may not be a good idea. Ads are chosen depending on the content of the page. The page that the iFrame calls (the one with your ads) would have no content, or very little, so how would they display relevent material? In the rules it does state: "No Google ad may be placed on any non-content-based pages."
iFrame is not allowed. I asked about this two weeks ago when a member came and said it was "recommended." If you want to include your Adsense ads on every page, you can do a php include.
