Using iframes for SEO

I have one site that has the main content keyword optimised but there is a whole bunch of content on the side that is not relevant to the actual product, and I don't want to keyword optimise it. If I place this content in an iframe, will that reduce the amount of words to the bots, and therefore give my keywords a higher density?

For the SEO part, the whole idea is that the SEO bot doesn't read the content as part of that page. The idea is that if the bot doesn't read the irrelevant content, the keyword density will be higher on the relevant content. Is it true that the bot doesn't read the iframe content?

As for the aesthetics part, I have the iframe working so that it is impossible to tell the difference between the page with the iframe and the page without one.

So, do Search Engines read the content that is in a iframe?
