Using google search results

Is it ok to use google search results on your own webpage? For example, is it illegal(copyright infringment) if you spider google and use their search results(urls and site descriptions/summary) without permission? Or is it ok, because the content in the description is owned by the site, and having a link to their site makes it ok? Thanks,

You may use their search engine on your site for free if you wish but you must use their coop tool. Otherwise without using their tool or letting them know yes it would be against TOS.

Anyone else have any feedback on this? I dont think its illegal because google spiders peoples sites, and uses their titles and summaries, so why wouldnt it be ok to spider google and use their info, as long as you provide links the all the original sites, and the google search page? I dont really know that much about copyrights and things like that though. Thanks

I think it's would be scrapping Google's SERPs (rather than spidering), and I am pretty sure it's not allowed.
If you want to display Google results, better to use their Custom Search Engine

why would it be considered scrapping rather then spidering? Im not scrapping the entire page, its a one time content search of the page(the script doesnt just scrape the google, it follows links including the results, and saves it all, its just faster to grab the google title and description, rather then arranging and filtering all the content of the pages aswell...and much easier on the servers/bandwidth :D ).

Its a copyright infrigement. Actually you are spidering google by passing some keywords in their url i.e. you are using their service to get the results. Then only you are grabbing all the links and title of other websites. To overcome this they came out with API to get 1000 search results per day.
