I'm running a local blog (we use WP) that obviously focuses heavily on specific places. Readers have expressed an interest in having the posts displayed on a Google map (we did a basic demo). For instance, all the political news/posts would show up as little American flags or some such, at the addresses of city hall or wherever the news is happening. Posts about, say, a crime, would show up at the address where the crime was committed. Then, when readers clicked on flag/thumbtack/pointer, in the bubble that pops up would be the post, or the first three lines of the post with a "read more" link. Obviously, we'd have to go back and add specific info to our old posts and also to new ones, but if there was a way to automate this (and allow users to pick the time period they want to see represented) that would be spectacular.
