Does anyone use images from FlickR for their stock photography ?

Many of the images are licenced for public distribution and most of the other images can still be used if certain conditions are met.

Ive used it, not as a stock photo resource, but ive wanted to use images from there before and find its best to contact the person just to be totally sure its ok to use them.

Ive had a 60% reply and success and felt more settled by asking first.

I don't use Flickr for using images on my designs, I use Fotolia.com

Yeah fotolia is good, especially for cheap, smaller sizes, nice choice there.

imo, microstocks may be useful when you need an image Fast. Either way, you may dig into tons of poor quality snapshots on free websites if you have time. Though some of them seem to offer decent quality in some cases - like sxc.hu

If anyone is using flickr images, then just make sure you read each users particular terms. LOTS of flickr users use:

    Which rules out monetized websites.
