Most of your readers probably will have a Facebook account, and if they don't creating one would be easy. The networking site which people use to connect with their high school buddies and previous colleagues has several features you can use to establish a new audience to your blog.

Facebook has users in all professions, interests and educational qualifications, so what ever is your blogs niche your sure to find readers on Facebook, and of course you can also connect with your previous readers.

    Increasing your friends
The first step to take as soon as you step up on Facebook is to search for groups in your niche and start sending out friend requests to its members, it is necessary to make friends who are interested in your blog's topic as when you post a link on your wall your friends should be interested in it and be ready to share it with their friends. Once you have found groups in your niche just send out friend requests blindly.

    Create a Facebook Group
Facebook groups are easy to create and most users are very active on groups in their niches. Just create a group, start some discussions, post some links, videos and photos. Next invite all your friends to join your group and encourage them to invite their friends. While creating a group their are a few things to take care of,

    • First of all your group shouldn't be in yours or your blogs name unless your blog is very famous or your a very famous personality.
    • Do not spam your Group with only your links, you can post links of other blogs as well.

Promote your group and blog using other groups
The best way to promote your group and your blog in Facebook is to leave links on other groups in your niche. This sure to work and would definitely give a few spikes in your blog traffic and a few more group members. The key is to leave links on blogs with more than 100 members.

    Advertising your group and blog
Facebook gives you an opportunity to promote your blog with a paid ad. Advertising on Facebook has two options CPC and CPM, both are equally efficient. For targeting only your potential audience, it takes just 10 to 15 cents for thousand views.

    Facebook application
I do agree that Facebook applications are hard to create, but you can outsource it at very less cost. This can boost your membership and your Facebook presence. You would definitely need an investment of $30 for developing an app and promoting it with an advertisement.

I've only had marginal luck promoting websites with FaceBook and this was only with a local blog. Gonna have to have a pretty damn popular big niche site to garner attention from the gnat attention span of Mysp....errr now Facebook.

It is difficult but it does work. Just like with anything, if you are willing to put in the time and get creative, you can see results. Eye-catching, smart posts that use humor, interesting links to other articles, good conversations. Pretty much everything that makes any site successful.

The best way I've found to use Facebook is to not really use your profile at all! I add "Share on Facebook" buttons to my posts, which allow my readers to share links on their Facebook profile's with their FB friends. This sends me a lot more traffic overall, and it helps because I can keep my blogging (business) life separate from my personal life.

find events and groups that are targeted to your subject...Join them and post on the walls...

One of the best ways i use to promote stuff on fbook, but they fixed this glitch now and that is to find groups that are already built up but have no admin and take them over..and u can change them to watever you want them me..

and also to reply to messages u get from groups..becuz the message goes to everybody in the group...

I still think the content matters.Try to provide attractive and unique content, you will blog will be more and more
popular. But to be honest,it's not very easy to do it.You can't always get such things. For technical blog, the experience
and accumulation of the author is much more important.

I use a Share On Facebook app. I find that promoting sites otherwise through FB is a big waste of time.

    Hi,

We can also post ads in facebook :)
The ads are very targeted, but we should aware of the cost :D

I suggest to use it wisely.

    Kind Regards,

I agree with was mentioned earlier, it has to do with your title. If you could get users attention by creating good titles coupled with good content then you'll have a chance. I don't know if I'm doing well in FB but currently, I am generating an average of 100+ hits everytime I post an article. If you call that good then I'm lucky. Having a lot of friends, sharing good reads and being a member of a lrge group also helps.
