I had an offer to use escrow.com to buy my site (in sig) for my asking price. Does anyone have any experience using them with selling websites? I have no idea how they work. Any advice at all would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks.

Great company... great experiences... protection for both the buyer and seller.

We have used escrow.com on a handful of occasions. IMO.. one of only a few ways to buy or sell a site over $5K.

I've had a number of successful transactions using Escrow.com. One interesting thing to note, a couple of occasions when I've insisted upon using Escrow.com, the other party vanised into thin air. Can't say for sure, but seems to me just the mere mention of the service saved me those times.

Ok, all seems well. Another quick question for anyone who has used it before..
The buyer plans on adding funds on Monday via wire transfer. How long before escrow.com shows the funds being there? How long after the waiting period (set for 1 day) will it be before they wire the funds to me?

Well... you need to do your part (putting domain in new owners name) and someone at escrow needs to verify it... then they will release the funds to you. This process can vary.... there is an inspection period for the other party and can be held up by them if they don't verify right away.

Most of my transactions took about a week.

I set the inspection period to one day, which the buyer agreed to. I assume that escrow.com is available during business hours to verify that I did indeed switch the domain over to the new owner?
I just have bills to pay on Thursday. Assuming a one day inspection period, with both of us using wire transfers, if the funds are wired to escrow.com tomorrow they should be released by Thursday, correct?
