When I heard all of this talk about data feeds I thought wow, this sounds awesome! But now I ask...How does one stand out from the crowd with a data feed website and rank higher in search engines than the other affiliate websites that were created from the same merchant's data feed? Sounds neat to be able to create a 4000 page website in a few minutes but what is the value of that if 100 other affiliates are creating data feed websites with the same data feed content? Are there any smart and slick ways to alter a data feed and make it unique without retouching every page that it generates by hand?
Q. How do you stand out from the crowd ? A. Design a site that's completely different from the others. A data feed just provides the raw data - you can display it any damn way you please and that's why it's the preferred (by me anyway) way of creating an affiliate site. A data feed does not generate pages, all a data feed should contain is the products. You build your own template to display said products.
