Using CSS and Page Rank

This sounds like the place for this question:

    Over in Website Reviews, http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=44834

Now, I'm not big on search engine optimization, and it sounds like he did some testing, but what's really going on here? Does optimization include removing CSS?

I've a PR 5 site that sits pretty in a number of keywords, and it's using almost exclusively (external) CSS for layout - does that really mean that I should drop the CSS? Sorry, but that makes absolutely no sense to me ...

Thanks for putting some light on this :)

NO, this has NOTHING to do with PR. PR is an indication of tthe links to your site.

If you do change, keep the same filenames, your pages will retain the PR.

The only way I can see that site being affected by CSS is if the "experiment" had anything to do with hiding text or some other questionable SEO technique that the site was penalized for.

    ServerUnion is totally correct.

So hidden text or changed file names - that's consistent with my understanding. Thanks you two :)
