Using Crowdsourcing for Website Development

We need a website developed for our new nonprofit, but don't have a lot of funds. Anyone know the best way to find a developer for a small price? I know generally you get what you pay for... However, I find that crowdsourcing has worked for other aspects of getting started. Are there any really good resources to use crowdsourcing for website development?

Also... if this post is in the wrong place and there is a better place, please let me know and I will move the post. Thanks! :)

I would like to hit on your two main questions
    1. best way to find a developer for a small price?
This is my experience. I've used trial and error method in the past to find cheap and good developers, I've posted small jobs on different sites (such as odesk, freelancer, etc) and found great developers for these jobs. When I wanted to hire them for the real job, they wanted a fortune. But you have to keep trying with small jobs until you find the ONE.
    2. Good resources to use crowd sourcing for web development
kickstarter is one of the best.

What would you consider a small job? Do you have some examples?

Have you thought about using a template? Wordpress templates are incredibly easy to edit.

Have a look at adobe muse too, a very visual editor.
