    Hi,
I read somewhere that competitive ad filter in adsense can be used to barr some low cpm ads on your site and thus improving your revenue.

Have anybody tried it? also how can I know whether an ad has low cpm ??
    plz help

You don't know if an ad has low cpm or not. But you know the type of things your visitor like (I hope you know). If you see ads that don't match your visitors preference, you can exclude them. For example, if your visitors are looking for home mortgage and you are getting health insurance ad, you can exclude health insurance ad.

I personally filter out all the ads that look irrelevant to my sites Niche. Doing this help to improve CTR. I don't think there is any way to find out which ad is paying low or high.

There are more crappy mfa ads on the prowl and if you filter one ad, another one will be displayed. Try to reduce the number of ad formats to the minimum possible and thereby you can avoid the worst paying ads to be displayed. Keep an eye on the irrelevant ads displayed and filter them as soon as possible :)

Maybe another thing to add on is that you are actually allowed only 200 urls to be added to the list. Competitive ads filtering only works to filter out ads which may come from competitors or specific urls which you intend to block from showing at your sites. If you intend to filter out low paying ads, you can either email google directly so that they can remove your sites aimed for ads target placement or you can filter low paying ads by reducing the number of ad unit. Hope that helps to explain.
