the problem isn't either A) or B), its likely just flux- but even that seems odd. If you lost all your pages, you did something wrong..

I went to Missouri then "D" for Des Peres (where there are two listed btw) and when I clicked on Des Peres, I got a page with ads and a statement:
When I clicked on St. Louis, I got a page with useless information. What real purpose does this site serve other than to create a boat load of pages to be indexed?

It told you exactly what you needed to know. Des Peres is another name St. Louis is known by.

Useless to you maybe. Not so useless to others. Example: I took the county listing off the pages while I was working on rewriting the DB calls. I received 75 emails from insurance agents, debt collectors, etc. that have to file paperwork with county governments. For a lot of cities, my site is the only easy to find source for that bit of info.

I'll try to include more pictures of firetrucks in the future, since obviously thats all people use the Internet to find.

    Don't get pissy guys...

Symetrix, it seems as though you don't have enough content...

I'm not saying that the content you have is crap, just that you don't have enough of it.

That's the reason you are being booted...

Relax, add some affiliate content, or directory listings to beef the pages up a bit more.

It would probably get more traffic if you did.

All kidding aside, the information presented is very basic and easily found elsewhere. If your city guide actually had information for each individual city such as the city hall, the local fire and police information, etc. then it would be much more than a page farm. Des Peres is NOT another name for St. Louis. It is a municipality within St. Louis County that has it's own government, it's own identity. If your site reflected that, then I would think it wasn't so pointless.

This ALL could be a content thingy

Have a look at your allintext results

One of my secondary terms has whizzed up 20 odd places to #2

About 3 pages of content all about the subject

    No affiliate links
No other links actually except to home page and a cgi script

All the stuff that should be there really (you know, pictures, headers, sub heads lal la la )

Hmm... I'll have to look into the Des Peres issue. According to the census and postal services it's not seperate. Maybe it was anexed?

I have 2 full time researchers working on content for the site. Unfortunately only a very few cities at this point have full writeups and local links (I can only work my overseas labor so hard :)). I am working on allowing visitors to contribute, but like all things it's slow coming.

... to encourage AdWords users to squander more on Ads. Remember, G is about making its investors money now, giving relevant results dropped in priority!

well- I noticed two pages drop totally today (out of the top 150 from top 3 spots) which were only using the network for their placing. One of mine and one of Shawns

I am still really do no understand the lastest changes in google. I checked my allintext - looks good there - top 10. Allinurl - a okay - top 10. Rank still south of 100.

I know that it is not a coop penalty b/c another site of my is doing fine. Makes me wonder if there is some random filter to make us go crazy.

I think the age of links is being taken into account...
